Lovable to DigitalOcean migration at a glance

Challenge
IsItUp.AI ran on Lovable and Supabase, and its teams wanted control over its hosting and a path to production.
Solution
Calls and a proposal scoped DigitalOcean, staging, production, CI/CD, backend migration and a reusable framework.
Result
The teams had a phased proposal to evaluate, plus a separately scoped quick database migration.

The Lovable to DigitalOcean migration challenge

IsItUp.AI was built on Lovable and Supabase. Its teams wanted control over compute and scaling, a way to move changes into production and a repeatable framework, while avoiding early changes to the current codebase.

What went into the Lovable to DigitalOcean migration

Discovery and architectureWeb app

  1. January calls to scope moving the Lovable app to a DigitalOcean account the client owns

  2. A February proposal with six phases: discovery, DigitalOcean setup, Docker packaging, CI/CD with rollback, Supabase backend migration and stabilization

  3. The proposal estimated 102 hours not to exceed, with an optional 20-hour buffer, at a blended $32 per hour

More of what we built3
  1. Discovery decisions left open included droplet count, branching and approvals, database approach, secrets, certificates and monitoring

  2. A separate 19 February call scoped a quick manual Supabase schema migration at three to four days; a 22 February call framed it as a possible project in about a week

  3. The .NET worker service and Windows service packaging remained outside the February proposal

Lovable to DigitalOcean migration results

The calls and proposal gave the teams a phased migration plan to evaluate, plus a separate short database-migration option. The estimates describe proposed scope, not completed work.
